For Issue Two, Gear Patrol’s writers and photographers traveled to five destinations, spending time with the people that make each location a notable spot on the globe. They talked with Nairo Quintana on cycling in the mountains outside of Bogotá, Mike Lata on fishing in the Lowcountry, Kan Yasuda on his introspective art, and walked the Oaxacan countryside with a handful of maestro mezcaleros bringing the agave spirit onto the global stage. They also celebrated one of publishing's greatest heroes, Esquire's former editor-in-chief David Granger, and his 19-year career in the industry. It doesn't compare to having the salty air in your face on Lata's boat or sitting down for a blanco tequila and lime with Granger, but for armchair adventure, it's pretty damn close.
