Allman Shirt

Description

The Allman Shirt doesn’t chase trends... it rides the rhythm of time. The Allman rides that loop with intention: not stuck in the past, but spinning it forward. This piece isn’t just retro for retro’s sake — it’s a recognition that style is a wheel. What was groovy then is grounded now. Cut in a classic fit it’s the shirt you’d throw on over a tee, or wear open, sleeves rolled, as you tune up an old guitar or a dusty bike.

HOW IT FITS

Wash & Care

Caring for Hand-Knit Cotton:

Cotton is more forgiving than wool but still benefits from gentle handling, especially in hand-knit form where the stitch structure is more open and delicate.

  • Hand wash in cool water with a mild detergent, or use a machine’s delicate/hand-wash cycle in a mesh laundry bag.
  • Cotton can handle slightly warmer water than wool, but keep it under 40°C to preserve color and shape.
  • Lay flat to dry just as you would with wool. Cotton knits can stretch when hung wet.
  • A cool iron on the reverse side can refresh the fabric if needed — avoid ironing directly on textured stitches.

Great fabric

"Ordered a large. The neck is like an XL size. Chest & arms are well tailored. The body is baggy, should be slimmer. Sleeves are great length. I cannot size down since the sleeves will probably be too short on the chest too tight. I am a typical 42-in chest and a 32-inch waist. About 6 ft tall. Color and richness are great."

Perfect for layering in the fall

"I purchased this shirt because I had an instinct that it would be a perfect piece for layering up in the autumn time. I was correct. I ordered the shirt a size bigger to accommodate clothes underneath, but it seems to fit well with just a t-shirt. I waver between XL & XXL in size. Very well made. You will be happy if you pull the trigger and buy this shirt."

Yes! You want this….

"Vacillated on picking this up. Bit the bullet when it went on sale and not disappointed. Aligns with the quality I have come to expect from I&R. I wear an XL normally but need to size up on I & R shirts."

Allman / blue

"6th flannel shirt from this brand. Pictures do not do the shirt pattern justice. Was sceptical whether I would wear it (little too “hippie” like for my taste - or so I thought !). Took a previous gamble Flatland / brown + Klamath / black and absolutely love them. Now have my “go to” shirt for coordination with blue jeans. For the price range, you certainly get quality value. For context - I am 6’2”, athletic slim build, 170 Lbs, long arms & live in freezing Canada (for you in USA - think “Alaska” temps from Nov. to end of April. ) Size large is perfect as an over-shirt (T underneath) XL also works with thicker base layering but has a “loose” look. I would also bet a medium would fit perfect for a trimmer fit (less than 1” difference in shoulder compared to large size) I would say the key metric to use is your shoulder width & where you like the seam to fall. You will not have any issue with sleeves riding up your outstretched arm (something I hate) Find your currently owned flannel shirt that best fits you & measure the shoulder. Use the site size to see the closest shoulder length and voilà - you should have the right fit. Extreme chest or belly is only reason to size up in my opinion."

I just love their woven

"I just love their woven shirts. Such great texture, thickness, and character. Iron and Resin is my new go-to option for a stylish, beefy winter shirt."

Great Shirt

"Fantastic shirt with a streamlined fit. I receive lots of compliments when wearing it. I did size down to a medium for a slim fit. I am 6' and weigh 170lbs with athletic build. The shirt is warm and very duarable"
