Otter Wax Heat-Activated Fabric Dressing

We carry Otter Wax's Heat-Activated Fabric Dressing because we love the matte appearance it provides as an end result. It comes in a large 1/2-pint tin container so it's great for those bigger waxed care projects. Great for waterproofing unwaxed items and great for re-waterproofing any existing waxed cotton canvas items. Like all of Otter Wax's care products, this is an all natural wax blend. Applies easily after melting/heating up with a natural-bristle paint brush, soft cloth and some good ol' fashion elbow grease.

Caring for Hand-Knit Cotton:

Cotton is more forgiving than wool but still benefits from gentle handling, especially in hand-knit form where the stitch structure is more open and delicate.

• Hand wash in cool water with a mild detergent, or use a machine’s delicate/hand-wash cycle in a mesh laundry bag.
• Cotton can handle slightly warmer water than wool, but keep it under 40°C to preserve color and shape.
• Lay flat to dry just as you would with wool. Cotton knits can stretch when hung wet.
• A cool iron on the reverse side can refresh the fabric if needed — avoid ironing directly on textured stitches.
