Born and raised in Albuquerque, NM, Chad Barela is a second generation silversmith. His silversmithing Spanish heritage was passionately passed down by his dad when his first torch and early tools were handed to him early on. For decades, he worked with his family to help build one of the largest names in turquoise jewelry today, "Sunwest Silver." In 2014, Chad Barela starting making his own one-of-a-kind turquoise pieces and has been mastering his craft ever since.
This collaboration is a perfect marriage of two classic American styles. Iron & Resin, a lifestyle brand with roots in surf and motorcycle culture, and Chad Barela, a jewelry maker who designs heirloom quality jewelry by hand inspired by the stylings of the Southwestern US.
