Ride To Nowhere
Decided it was time to pack up and and leave civilization for a few days. With a full moon weekend and California "winter" weather in the forecast we couldn't have asked for better conditions. Gathered a few good friends, strapped what camp gear we could to our bikes and headed out. Where were we going...nowhere. We rode all day and ended up in the middle of nowhere.
Spent the morning heading north on Hwy 101...
After lunch we turned many clicks of the odometer (if you had one) through the twisties.
A stop at the top to take in the views.
Inspect the bikes before heading down the back and into the unpaved wilderness.
Getting onto the dirt and into the woods was a breathe of fresh air.
Well...maybe not for those of us at the back of the pack
Miles of dirt adhering itself to the trusty steeds.
Time for a bath...the water was quite a bit deeper than it looked.
Rewards for a long day in the saddle.
Oak moon showing itself.
Gathered the wood along the roadside...lifesaver.
Stories of the day and days past.
The later it got, the larger the flames.
Wake up with the animals.
Thawing the cowhide is a must before inserting the digits.
"Don't you have a choke?" "Nope...blocked it off.".
Back to civilization for warm grub and cool suds.
