as a brand, we’ve always been proud of our Ventura, California roots. we are literally a product of this place we call home. it is ingrained in our DNA...
Ventura is now under threat from out of town developers that are proposing to alter the landscape and bulldoze over the history and culture of our town in the name of "progress." currently the city council is considering proposals for 6-7 story “big box” buildings to replace any downtown building they don’t deem as historically significant, forever changing the historic charm of our downtown. Ventura has always been an eclectic, blue collar mix of farmers, oil roughnecks, surfers, bikers and cowboys. a place where teachers and firefighters could afford to work and actually live in the communities they serve. change is inevitable but the solution to the current housing crisis is not to destroy our past and take away the parts of this place that make it special.
if you love this town like we do and care about preserving it’s historic significance then let your voice be heard:

we are who we are because of our hometown. this is a fact, and we don’t bullsh*t when we write that statement. without Ventura’s deep roots of cowboys, surfers, bikers, roughnecks, teachers, firefighters, and other hard-working humans since the beginning, who would we be?
Ventura has always been an eclectic mix of families and carries that historic nature to this present day. it’s rough around the edges, eccentric, and the last of its kind. many people that you meet here were born in Ventura, their parents were too, and most likely their grandparents as well. it’s a town built from family traditions and hard work passed down with meaning and purpose. to first-glance outsiders, it’s often overlooked and misunderstood.

...without community,
we are nothing.
...without community,
we are nothing.
... and without preserving history,
progress is unseen.
