Waxed Canvas Mechanic Jacket

Description

The Mechanic Jacket is nothing new for us here. We started making this cut years ago to provide a layer that was ready to work under the hood deep into any season. We started with a 10oz duck cotton canvas back in '18, worked on a heavier 11.75 oz cotton duck canvas with our friends at New Legend 4x4 in 2021, and came up with this blanket lined waxed canvas version for this Fall.

Built with a durable waxed cotton canvas, the Mechanic Jacket provides excellent wind and debris resistance, making this outerwear piece perfect for life in and out of the garage. Designed with a front button entry and paired with a custom blanket liner, it'll keep the vitals warm when necessary. We gave the jacket double needle felled seams throughout so you know it’s in it for the long haul, especially once that patina starts developing on the waxed cotton canvas. Ready for a lifetime of wear, and more.

"Great quality and fit"

Weird Cut: More Statement than Function

"I'm 5'11" 172lbs with a 7"-8" drop from chest to waist and I purchased a Large. And to to think I considered getting a Medium as usually fall between those two sizes. The arm movement is very restrictive as the arm/shoulder openings are very small and are not gusseted like the Cruiser jacket. Reaching to attempt to touch your hands together in front of you with elbows straight is difficult as the restraint is across the back and the arm seam cutting up into the armpits, as the sleeves come halfway up the forearm. It's really short. The front is about an inch shorter than the back, which is OK, but the front barely coming down to the bottom of my belt buckle. The waist is too big as there's not much of a taper. As you can see from the pics (which are all with it buttoned up) the waist flares out straight down from the chest. Bottom line. Need bigger shoulders and smaller waist. Unless this 63 yr old is just too fit for your target market 😉"

Excellent Jacket

"Great fitting jacket, and tough as nails. Love the tan color as well. Can't wait to start wearing it. Sizing is fitted, which I love. Hate boxy jackets."

Great jacket and It fits

"Great jacket and It fits exactly how I wanted it to. Fantastic quality, will last forever. Like all I&R products, this is a really well constructed jacket. A lot of compliments on it. Very happy with this purchase, do yourself a favour and just do it!"

Waxed Canvas Mechanic Jacket

"This is a great rugged yet sophisticated jacket! A lot of versatility… the ruggedness, build quality and the fact it’s weather proof makes it a good work coat and or motorcycle jacket but its got a handsome, classy sophisticated look as well which makes it perfect to wear out for dinner or stroll around town with jeans and a nice pair of boots. I get a lot of compliments when I wear it. I’m 5’10” 180 lbs. . medium size is the way to go, a form fit unless you want to wear a thick hoodie underneath then maybe try the large. I highly recommend it!"

My new favorite jacket

"For starters, I think the picture does no justice to this jacket. It’s slightly darker because of the wax and because of the contrast between the actually fabric and the parts that are soaked in wax, as you wear it you will get beautiful folds and designs from the wax coming off from wear. It’s genuinely gorgeous and comfy. It’s warm but not too warm. Comparing to the Flint and Tinder waxed trucker, I like this jacket much more, it fits better, it feels better, and it patinas better. I’m 6’ 2” 170lbs and Large fits me well, I can even get a hoodie under it."
