Size Recommender
The Mechanic Jacket is nothing new for us here. We started making this cut years ago to provide a layering that was ready to work under the hood deep into any season. We started with a 10oz duck cotton canvas back in '18, worked on a heavier 11.75 oz cotton duck canvas with our friends at New Legend 4x4 in 2021, and came up with this 11.75 oz cotton duck canvas version for our 2023 offerings.
Built with 11.75 oz cotton duck canvas, the Mechanic Jacket provides excellent wind and debris resistance, making this outerwear piece perfect for life in and out of the garage. Designed with a front button entry with custom metal shank buttons, it'll keep the vitals warm when necessary. We gave the jacket double needle felled seams throughout so you know it’s in it for the long haul, especially once that patina starts developing on the cotton duck canvas. Ready for a lifetime of wear, and more.

HOW IT FITS
Like many Iron & Resin jackets, the Mechanic Jacket carries a tailored fit to it, which we really dig. Because of this, we highly recommend ordering your true size. For example, someone here that is 5'11" + 160lbs wears a size medium in this jacket and it fits great. However, if you have any question on what size to order for the Mechanic Jacket, please reach out to us directly, or give us a call 1.805.515.3353, and we'd be happy to help you out.
Our goods are meant to be worn in, not out. With the correct care, we want our customers to be able to treat their gear with the tough love it was intended to take. Take a look at our Wash & Care Guide to keep your goods performing for a lifetime.

"Im 190 lbs and i got xlarge. Wanted little bit long in torso. . But for some large will be great. Nice thick fabric as well."
"Again this is too short my bellybutton shows im 6’3” xxl should be to big. I’ve sent emails I want to return this and the other shirt. They had to know these were bunk but still sold them to people. At least give my cash back. There Henlys are nice though sorry"
"Seems like a well constructed jacket. Perfect if you need something additional on to take the chill off. Fit is pretty much spot on, although the sleeves could be a little shorter. For reference, I'm 5-7, 153 lbs and purchased a medium."
"I have wanted a jacket like this for years. Heavy, black canvas, good tall collar, side pockets, longer than a trucker. It’s perfect. I’m 5’10” 150, sleeves are long on me, but I did melt about a pound of wax into it so it’s already taking my shape. I would definitely call this a true medium. I love this jacket."
"Perfect light weight jacket. I can wear it all year round. Couldn’t ask for better."
"The quality of this jacket is unreal! The attention to detail, the stiching etc. If you plan to layer alot of shirts underneath, then I might suggest sizing up. I typically wear this over a t shirt or a light long sleeve and it fits great. I also like that the jacket is low profile not too flashy function over fashion is what I like."
"Great jacket Nice design fit material weight hardware and heritage aesthetic"
"I love this jacket. I am a little rounder in the belly, so I went a size up. I get compliments when I am wearing this jacket."
"The jacket is a little more snug then I was hoping but overall it's a 10/10. Great quality, good layering ability, and already have gotten some compliments. Perfect for VA weather."
"Great jacket fit is true to what Iron & Resin said."
